Kings Fund

A mixture of Haematology specialist registrars, consultants and laboratory scientists attended a critical appraisal workshop at Kings Fund, London. Generic clinical papers were critiqued by the group to identify key strengths and weaknesses of trial data in their specialist areas. This was an excellent interactive session and focused on upskilling the group as well as assisting those students preparing for final FRCPath exit exam. The course was organised by a pharmaceutical company who invited Narinder in as a speaker for the masterclass.

Improving critical appraisal skills with the Medical Science Liaison teams. We've been working with a pharmaceutical company to design a course to improve critical appraisal skills amongst MSLs. The one day event took place in Singapore and over 120 delegates attended. We spent the day understanding the core knowledge and concepts used in appraising papers and then practised on randomised controlled trials and meta-analyses. Face-to-face teaching allows us to offer a more personalised experience to the delegates. We're more than happy to answer questions as they arise and check everyone's understanding regularly.
