‘Key Steps’ lecture at Restorative Dentistry conference

Today Dr Gurpal S. Gosall from The Critical Appraisal Company spoke at the 'Improving Outcomes in Restorative Dentistry' conference at the Royal College of Physicians, London. This was a joint meeting of The British Society for Restorative Dentistry, The Association of Consultants and Specialists in Restorative Dentistry, The Specialist Registrars in Restorative Dentistry Group (SSRDG) and The British Association of Teachers of Conservative Dentistry. We were invited by the SSRDG to give a short talk on the key steps in appraising clinical papers. In 45 minutes the delegates were given a whirlwind tour of critical appraisal topics in Dr Gosall's unique style. We hope everyone enjoyed the talk and thanks for the invite!

There was also time to practice with a real dental research paper. The session was fully booked; all delegates were given complimentary access to the Critical Appraisal Online Course. Many delegates at the conference have attended our bespoke critical appraisal training events for exam revision purposes and it was great to catch up with so many people who have passed the exams and have now attained Consultant status. Critical appraisal course in Melbourne

The ancient Mayan calendar may have predicted that the world would end in December 2012 but that didn't stop us from running a Critical Appraisal Bespoke Course at the Sebel Hotel in Melbourne, Australia. The event was organised by the Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) as a free post-conference workshop after the Palliative Care Nurses Australia (PCNA) 2012 Conference. Content from our two day workshop together with clinical papers was packed into one day. A lot of material was covered and all the delegates were given free access to the Critical Appraisal Online Course for three months to help consolidate their knowledge and skills, on the assumption that the Mayan calendar had got it all wrong!

Critical appraisal training in San Francisco

Wednesday 27 June 2012    Bespoke course | Conference | United States

Critical appraisal training in San Francisco

We are in San Francisco this week running a training session at a conference. The conference delegates already have access to the Critical Appraisal Online Course so this bespoke event is entirely focused on rapidly appraising a collection of clinical papers. Giving delegates prior access to the core training materials is a popular option with bespoke events because conference time is a precious commodity. Delegates can study the online course at their leisure to learn the core knowledge and then use our tutor's expertise at the conference to improve their understanding. As the delegates know the basic facts, we can cover more advanced material in the training session. It's a win-win situation for everyone. And yes, the weather is better than back in the UK!
