Evidence-based nursing workshop in Dubai attracts 200 nurses

The record-breaking attendance of our Critical Appraisal Workshop in Dubai was immediately matched by 200 nurses who attended our Evidence-Based Nursing Made Easy Workshop, which took place over the last two days in Dubai, UAE. The workshop focused on introducing the knowledge and skills of critical appraisal and included practical sessions on audits, research protocols and qualitative studies. The focus throughout the workshop was on improving the patient experience, a task that nursing staff are well positioned for as they spend most time with the patient. The feedback was great and we hope we have instilled a desire to keep with the latest evidence and to be the best in those who attended!

Critical Appraisal Workshop breaks attendance record in Dubai

Today we completed a critical appraisal workshop in Dubai, UAE. This event was our biggest ever, with 200 doctors, dentists, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals learning the knowledge and skills of critical appraisal over two intensive days. We’ve held courses for senior medical staff before in Dubai which have received great feedback. This event was open to more professionals and proved to be very popular. There’s a a great sense of satisfaction on our part knowing that a new cohort of healthcare professionals now feel comfortable reading research papers. Critical appraisal can be made difficult to understand but we aim to make it simple. The feedback we received after this critical appraisal workshop suggests we’re succeeding where others have failed! We’re planning to return to Dubai in October 2012 to repeat this workshop to give those who couldn’t make it this time an opportunity to experience our unique approach.

Critical Appraisal Workshop with Advanced Statistics in Dubai

120 delegates attended the Critical Appraisal Workshop in Dubai today. As well as learning the knowledge and using the skills of critical appraisal over two days, delegates received a presentation on advanced statistics. This new session included material from the upcoming 2012 version of the Critical Appraisal Online Course and the new Statistics123 course. Dubai is a great place to teach, with everyone keen to learn and lots of interesting questions for the course tutors. We enjoyed our time there very much! The workshop will be returning to Dubai in 2012. Stay tuned for more details!

Critical Appraisal Workshop lands in Dubai, UAE

One hundred senior clinicians in Dubai attended Superego Cafe’s Critical Appraisal Workshop on 5-6 April 2011. This was the third critical appraisal skills training event in three years and was an advanced course focusing on appraising real clinical papers. Over two days a collection of research articles were appraised, including cohort studies, case-control studies, randomised controlled trials and meta-analyses. Delegates were shown how to read clinical papers rapidly and make sense of data. The feedback was excellent and as a show of appreciation, Superego Cafe was presented with a trophy. Plans are already in place for another critical appraisal event.
