Non-clinical skills training - Specialist Registrars in London
28th May 2015 |
Today we’ve been training doctors in a meeting at the Royal College of Surgeons, London.
The training day for the Specialist Registrars is a regular event and aims to support their further development, enhancing non-clinical skills which are required to take leading roles in their speciality.
Doctors need to keep their knowledge up-to-date and that means regularly reading and critically appraising journal articles so that their patients receive evidence-based care.
The critical appraisal teaching session lasted half a day and included an overview of the key knowledge and skills needed to effectively appraise research articles.
The time available to keep up with the research literature is always in short supply but hopefully our session will make reading papers a less arduous process.
