Boosting critical appraisal knowledge and skills in Yorkshire

14th Jan 2015 | Workshop, Bespoke Course

This week we've been running a bespoke critical appraisal workshop for dentists in Yorkshire, supported by Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber.

The venue was Tankersley Manor in Barnsley, a former 17th century residence with many of the original features retained including exposed wooden beams and Yorkshire stone windowsills. A modern edge has been created with the addition of a purpose built conference centre.

The two days event covered the entire subject from start to finish. As it was a bespoke event, dental research papers were used for practice and to illustrate key concepts. This is the advantage of bespoke events - the agenda can be tailored to the exact requirements of the audience.

One of the feedback comments sums it all up: "The practical aspect of actually appraising the journals ourselves was very useful as it made us apply the theory we had learnt. The speaker was amazing, easy to understand and made such a difficult subject interesting and enjoyable. Would thoroughly recommend this course."
