February 2025: Global Training on Evidence-Based Medicine and Critical Appraisal – Vifor

In February 2025, we were proud to deliver a global virtual training event on Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and critical appraisal skills for Vifor’s medical teams, connecting participants across three time zones via Zoom. This wide-reaching session brought together colleagues from around the world to strengthen a core competency for all medical affairs professionals: making sense of the science.

The training focused on the principles of EBM and how to critically assess the quality, validity, and relevance of clinical research.

Using real clinical papers and interactive exercises, we guided participants through practical techniques to appraise literature with confidence, skills essential for ensuring that scientific discussions with healthcare professionals are rooted in robust, reliable evidence.

This session highlighted the importance of strong EBM foundations for anyone working in a scientific or medical capacity—and how mastering critical appraisal can transform the way data is understood and communicated.
