February 2025: Foundation & Advanced Critical Appraisal Courses - UAE Delegates

In February 2025, we had the privilege of hosting a virtual training event for delegates from the UAE, focusing on both Foundation and Advanced Critical Appraisal skills. This interactive event was designed to empower participants, whether they were new to critical appraisal or looking to enhance their existing expertise.

Over the course of the event, delegates engaged in a hands-on learning experience, where they didn’t just passively absorb content—they actively worked through real-world clinical studies, critically evaluating study designs, statistical methods, and applicability to practice. Each delegate had the opportunity to present their own critical appraisal of a selected study, receiving personalised feedback to help refine their approach and improve their skills.

In addition to core critical appraisal techniques, the session also explored Real-World Evidence (RWE), with a focus on how to evaluate observational data and apply it effectively within clinical decision-making. By connecting theory to practice, we ensured that participants not only understood the material but could confidently apply it in their day-to-day roles.

The event was built to be interactive and engaging, encouraging lively discussions and peer learning, and empowering everyone involved to walk away with a stronger ability to critically appraise scientific literature and make evidence-based decisions.
