January 2025: Clinical Study Design and Protocol Writing for Oncology Doctors – Slovenia

In January 2025, we were thrilled to host a dynamic training session in Slovenia, specifically tailored for Oncology doctors focused on designing clinical studies and writing protocols. This hands-on workshop was designed to equip participants with the essential skills needed to navigate the complexities of clinical trial design in the context of oncology research.

Throughout the day, we covered the entire process of protocol development, from formulating research questions to defining study objectives, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and statistical considerations. Participants were guided through the process of creating clear, scientifically rigorous, and ethically sound protocols that adhere to international standards.

The session also focused on practical aspects of oncology trials, including the challenges unique to this field, such as patient stratification, disease progression modelling, and treatment regimens. Participants worked on real-world case studies, applying their learning to draft sections of protocols, receiving expert guidance and feedback to fine-tune their approaches.

By the end of the workshop, attendees were empowered with the tools and confidence to design clinical studies that address key research gaps, while ensuring robust, high-quality data that could ultimately drive advancements in oncology treatment.
