Full-Day Critical Appraisal Training in Dublin for Medical Specialists

18th Mar 2025 | Evidence-Based Training, Bespoke Course

In March 2025, we were pleased to deliver a full-day, in-person training session at the Ashling Hotel in Dublin, focused on critical appraisal and evidence-based medicine. The session brought together a multidisciplinary group of medical doctors from Microbiology, Haematology, and Oncology, all looking to strengthen their ability to interpret and apply clinical research in practice.

For some participants, this session also served as vital preparation for upcoming exams that assess critical appraisal skills. With that in mind, the training was designed to be both practical and exam-relevant, covering the key components of study design, statistical interpretation, bias, confounding, and clinical applicability.

Using clinical papers and interactive discussions, participants gained hands-on experience dissecting the strengths and limitations of different types of research. The collaborative format encouraged peer learning while building confidence in reading and applying medical literature.

Whether for exam readiness or day-to-day clinical decision-making, the session helped equip attendees with the tools to engage more critically with evidence and improve patient care.
