March 2025: Introducing RWE to New Medical Advisors and MSLs – Biogen

In March 2025, we were delighted to deliver a focused training session on Real-World Evidence (RWE) for new Medical Advisors and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) at Biogen. With RWE playing an increasingly vital role in evidence-based medicine, it’s essential that medical teams understand how to interpret, evaluate, and communicate these types of studies confidently.

The session provided a clear and practical introduction to the fundamentals of RWE—exploring how it differs from traditional clinical trials, where it fits into the broader evidence landscape, and its relevance to decision-making in real-world clinical settings.

We also covered key statistical concepts and study designs used in RWE, helping participants to better understand observational data, registries, retrospective analyses, and comparative effectiveness studies. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, the team gained practical insights into the strengths and limitations of this evolving evidence base.

This training was designed to empower Biogen’s new medical team members to engage in meaningful scientific conversations, critically appraise RWE studies, and support clinicians with high-quality, data-driven insights.
